I hope it skips a generation!

Teenagers of the World...or South Jordan, Utah:

You bother me! Yes it's true, the majority of you bother me...when I am out with my husband on a lovely date, why do I have to hear you screaming something obnoxious in the parking lot over and Over and OVER again?? We get it...you are funny!

Why when I am shopping at Target, are there a MILLION of you crammed in one little isle, making the management nervous as to what you are doing over there...and Why out of that MILLION is there only one GIRL! Seriously, Chica Hello????

Oh and why when you, Chica, are with these millions of boys, you choose the scronny-est of them all to be all "cuddley" with and snuggle walk down the isle?? (You all know what I am talking about, the Prom Pose while walking) What happened to holding hands walking side by side??? BE NORMAL!!!!

And Why oh WHY are you guys parked in the Target Parking lot just "hanging out" right in front of my car?

P.S. Girl in the car with two other boys....IF you are going to be tough and lip something off to me because I starred at you (which I did only to make you nervous, it's a fun game I play with strangers), then TRY oh TRY to pronunicate your WORDS so that I can at least read them?? I only figured you were saying something tough because you had your ghetto attitude head shake. Which I must say was VERY good! I was afraid of you...seriously keep up the good work!

The one very up side to you all, is the constant enjoyment that the husband and I have at your expense, so Thank yoU!

Sincerely,

Jazmine's Hormones

Problem Solved

Scene: Jazmine in the bathroom (for the 20th time that day) notices something on the back of the door. This is what she sees

Jazmine Thinks to herself: What could that be????

Taking a closer look

MYSTERY SOLVED!!!!

Jazmine: Honey, did you kill a spider against the bathroom door?

Brentonie: Oh ya, I thought I got it

Jazmine: So we are leaving it up there as an example to all the other spiders in this apt??

BRENTONIE: uH-HUH

And we have not seen a spider since!

Where did we go wrong????

Parts of the Article that were cut out of this pic:

  • Gather up schoolbooks, toys, paper etc and then run a dustcloth over the tables.
  • Over the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering for his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.
  • Prepare the children. Take a few minutes to wash the children's hands and faces (if they
are small), comb their hair and, if necessary, change their clothes. They are little treasures and he would like to see them playing the part. Minimze the noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Try to encourage the children to be quiet.
  • Be happy to see him
  • Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.
  • Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first-remember, his topics of converstation are more important than yours.
  • Make the evening his. Never complain if he comes home late or goes out to dinner, or other places of entertainment without you. Instead, try to understand this world of strain and pressure and his very real need to be at home and relax.
  • Your goal: Try to make sure your home is a place of peace, order and tranquility where your husband can renew himself in body and spirit.
  • Don't greet him with complaints and problems.
  • Don't complain if he's late home for diner or even is he stays out all night. Count this as a minor compared to what he might have gone through that day.
  • Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or have him lie down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.
  • Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in low, soothing and pleasant voice.
  • Don't ask him quetions about his actions or question his judgement or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.
  • A good wife always knows her place.

Mystery Martha

Dear Martha Stewart:

I wanted to let you know that I marvel at your creativeness, I love your Christmas wreaths made out of pine cones and gold spray paint. One day I plan on making the pumpkin snake that you had in your Halloween Holiday special 2 seasons ago. I am sorry that I did not purchase your magazine this last Holiday season, it's not like me I know, but my mind was still trying to wrap it's way around the fact that I was pregnant....do you have a magazine edition on that????

Today though, The Brenton and I got a lovely surprise in our mailbox when we received not one but TWO of your magazines. We received the Gardening Solutions and the Springs Brightest Ideas edition. I am excited to look through them, however I fear to. For neither The Brenton nor I ordered these. Did you send me these? Or will I soon receive a bill for $80?? I do love your magazines, but I do not like surprise bills. Maybe if I am really good, The Brenton will let me keep them, or maybe one!

Yours Truly,

Jazmine Livingston

S-U-G-A-R

Some may say that I am a stubborn person....(stop laughing mom!) It's true, if you tell me NOT to do something, of course I am going to do it, (except drugs... and a few others)

I read all the books about being pregnant and they go on and on and on about nutrition and being healthy for your baby's sake....
Things like:
  • Don't eat tuna more than once a week
  • Don't have too much caffeine......I have opt-ed for a caffeine free pregnancy, with the help of Brenton saying "You can't have caffeine....don't hurt my baby!") *and side note, yes I know that you can have caffeine while pregnant, you just have to monitor it, BUT they say the baby has a hard time metabolizing it...so we just say no.
  • Don't Smoke while pregnant
  • Don't Drink
  • Don't eat cold deli meat (I have missed that one)
  • Don't eat raw hot dogs...sad they had to actually tell people that
  • Don't eat soft, non pasturized cheeses
  • No sushi (except if it's tempura-ed)
  • No pills other than Tylenol

All this I have obeyed to make sure that Diva can be as healthy as possible

BUT lately I read that in the 3rd Trimester, "You should really lower your carb/sugar intake." Something about retaining water with all the salty crackers/chips and everything that is good and holy...and the Sugars, I guess too much sugar is bad, and I should eat a veggie or something!

I am sorry Peanut, but I just can't seem to get myself off the box or Bag...they told me NO.... But to use my own power against me, I have challenged myself to a

NO SUGAR THURSDAY.......

Wish me luck...I love candy oh and Brownies!

Okay so ladies in Utah, may I please remind you that it is still March a.k.a. WINTER in UTah, we are lucky if it gets over 55 degrees for a few hours, and yet some of you are bringing out the summer gear already...
No No No.....

When the Mountains look like this:

Then I don't think we should be seeing this just yet...

Had girl in my night class sport this (but with a shirt) and all I could think of was

WHY???!!!
I am afraid of what she will pull out when it is an acutal hot day...Sheesh
(P.S. her legs resembeled the snow on the mountains! )

You Know it's a Slow day at Work When.....

You spent 10 min reading from the Costco Connection Magazine that you just got in the mail, and focused on the article about their foodcourt, and how they have a new hotdog!

Dear Brenton,

Hi Sugar....remember me...it's Jazmine:

No not the crazy Jazmine, the Jazmine you met years ago and liked, heck I think you even said you loved me. Well I know I have been gone for a while now, and I bet you are wondering what you did wrong to drive me away. I want you to know, it's not you...it's ME!

I wanted to stay around, believe me I did, but there just wasn't enough room for the three of us. You know, you, me and that crazy girl. I KNOW that you would rather hang with me instead of the crazy girl, I do too. I mean so many times when she is going on and on, I'm like "shut up" but she doesn't listen. Or all the times when she is saying mean sarcastic comments, I just keep telling her, "he's not going to like that, maybe you shouldn't say it" and guess what?? She says it anyway! Man, I don't know what it's going to take to get rid of her, but someday, yes someday I plan on coming back into your life, and we can be happy again...like ol' times.

And when I come and get you from school you will see the happy smiling Jazmine that was just so fun to be around. Not the red puffy faced girl that had been bawling before you even got in the car... like you saw last night (don't worry I had a talk with her, she should be good for a few days!) I just remember the look on your face, you looked so scared!

Anyway, it's almost good golfing weather, so please use that time to escape from HER! Really it's okay!

I love you, and miss you! Someday we'll be together again. I hope!

Remember this? This is our first official "COUPLE" pic! Aunt Terri took this for us!

You have done so well with dealing with THIS girl...uggghh why won't she just leave???

Counting Down What?

I have this wonderful reminder on my blog, some of you have seen it

But today I looked at it and thought....108 days to go...

  • Until my stomach stops growing like I swallowed the earth...it will all go straight to my hips like before!!
  • Until I can lay flat on my back without out worrying about what will happen if I stay there too long
  • Until my getting up 2 maybe 3 times a night is no longer voluntary it's mandatory
  • Until sleeping in on Saturdays is no longer a possibility
  • Until it will take me 3 hours to get ready to leave the house vs. 1 hr
  • Until The Brenton and I lose all grown-up conversations and we just discuss how many times she pooped that day!
  • Until Mom's that previously ignored me because I had no children, will all of the sudden start talking to me (you know what I'm talking about...the church moms)
  • Until I can no longer use the phrase, "Oh Sorry honey, I didn't mean to say that, it's the pregnancy!"
  • Until my tardiness will be accepted by everyone, mom's with kids always get out of being judged for being late.
  • Until my mom will get to say, "what goes around comes around Jazzy!" every time I call her crying because my daughter is CRAZY!
  • Until my brothers will stop saying, "Jazz you're a ton of fun"...they are heartless boys!

And of course a list for The Brenton:

  • Until he will no longer have a crazy crying girl in his house...he will have TWO!! HAHAHA
  • Until he will put his nose up to a butt to check for a dirty diaper
  • Until his gag reflex will be tested atleast once a day
  • Until being on time means we're only 20 min late
  • Until he gets to drive in a car with a screaming child and still try to keep his cool
  • Until he gets to carry around the bright pink sparkly diaper bag that I am thinking about buying, just to cause him public humiliation....sorry it's the pregnancy that makes me think of these mean thoughts! :)

108 days to go...and lovin' every day until we get there!

Would UPS have done it??

I imagine his morning went something like this:

"Where are my keys...ahhh I can't find my keys!!" he must have looked in all his usual places

"Honey where are the keys, I am going to be late to work!" no one could find his keys....so as a result he grabs his spare keys and runs out the door.

I am sure he admired the fact that it was a BEAUTIFUL Salt Lake morning, with 50...that's right 50 degrees!!

As he drives, he looks at the clock and punches the gas a little harder so that he doesn't get the parking spot all the way in the back....

Stopped at a red light, he notices a FedEx Van behind him, and the driver gets out of the Van and starts walking toward his car....the back of his car...he does something and then walks towards the driver side....the man must have noticed all the other cars around, and the drivers looking and wondering what is going on...

The man rolls down the window and the FedEx man hands him his keys....YES he left them in the trunk!!!

The man notices the pretty girl in the gold Suzuki (that is very dirty because her husband REFUSES to wash the car during the winter.."it's only going to get dirty again!" uhhh....sorry on with the story) smiling as she watches the FedEx guy get back in his Van and continue on with his glorious day of delivering packages!

Goodbye Bank Account, Hello SHOES!!!

HALLELUJA!!! I would like to first thank the city of Sandy for approving the building of the Nordstrom's rack, secondly I would like to apologize to The Brenton for all of the time and money I will spend at this store!
Yes I know there is a Nordstroms rack 20 min from my house, however it is kind of "ghetto" yes I'll say it... ghetto!
So thank you for opening a new store closer to my home! BRING ON THE SHOES!!!!

3 ...2...1.. Contact!!!

Well Houston, we have made contact, and The Brenton has finally felt the wonderful soccer player/boxer that has been moving around for the last 4 weeks...

It's funny because just yesterday we were talking with family because our little Peanut has a cousin that is barely 10 days younger than her, and they have been able to both feel ol' Muffin move and groove...

Obviously our little Peanut doesn't like to be known a
s the "Weak One" as I called her, and so today she kicked harder and more often to prove her point...Looks like reverse psychology works on her!

So as I was laying down to go to bed, and literally I was going from the seated position down to the lying position, I had the weirdest feeling that I have not felt before. I seriously thought Brenton had reached around and poked my stomach hard (which he knows better to do because poking my stomach = death in this house)...I asked him if he di
d that..of course he had no idea what I was talking about....

so here is the explanation...my stomach isn't a nice cute round firm belly, it has character and is a little, shall we say "pliable" So I when I sit down there is an equator line that divides the north from the south pole. I think Peanut got a foot/leg/arm or something right in the equator and as I bent down it squished it, I am sure it frightened her as much it did me!

Lets just hope it wasn't her face! 23 weeks!

Dedication or Stubborn????

Presidents Day Weekend = Long weekend when I can go see my family without taking work off+not too pregnant to drive 10+hours...so we headed to CA!

We got news that it could snow on our way, we got chains(which was a fantastic idea because we used them TWICE! The Brenton...he did such a good job putting them on, and taking them off...I did really good about reading the directions and turning the steering wheel! TEAMWORK!) we packed our car with extra blankets and food and water....we were ready....it started off like thisThe last 4 hours were...amazing from 3am-7am it was like this (view from our windshield)13 Hrs later we arrived to our wonderful destination....my mom's house!

Now we are getting ready to do it all again on Monday! Yes we could have stayed home and avoided the dangers of driving in nasty weather, but I need to visit the homeland ever-so-often...plus who doesn't jump at the chance to see their mom?

Instructions on How to Almost get Penned by a Pregnant Woman

Location: Now this is very important, you want to be on a college campus when it's dark outside, say 6:50pm-7pm, make sure that the Campus is in kind of a sketchy area!

Step 1: Find a pregnant girl who is walking across a big parking lot and who has to cross the street to get to where her car is parked (make sure this girl is a paranoid girl, due to all of the episodes of "UNSOLVED MYSTERIES" that she watched as a child!)

Note: This girl should be walking by the bus stop and have to go behind the overhang area where there is just a solid cement wall and perfect!

Step 2: Once the pregnant girl gets to where not many others can see her, and she has to walk across a bridge next to the portables where it's lit but still very scary...that is when you start walking closer and closer..oh and make sure that you walk very loud so that she knows that you are getting closer

Step 3: Coordinate your timing so that there are other people walking by, so she isn't scared, just very JUMPY! And when you finally come side by side with this girl, make sure that there is a second guy walking behind her, so she really becomes aware of her surroundings.

Step 4: Don't just pass the girl, no no walk next to her obviously invading her comfort zone.

Step 5: Make sure that she has a clicky pen in her right hand and have her other hand getting ready to grab her keys

Step 6: Just keep on walking by, like an idiot who just doesn't know how to give someone her personal space while you two are walking in a parking lot AT NIGHT!!!

My New BFF!!!

(the pillow...not the pregnant woman)
Oh Boppy...thank you for being there to snuggle me at night, Brenton did the best he could but A. He rolls too much and B. He generates enough heat for our whole apartment. Boppy, my back and hips no longer hurt! THANK YOU BOPPY THANK YOU!!!

No Pressure

Dear Peanut:

I just want to give you a little heads up...you are going to be grandchild #12 for Aby Joyner. 12!! We are going to have to think of something good to make you stand out, because as of right now, anything cute you do....it's been done 12 times before...
I know you think that you could do a cute dance or something, no sorry, I mean we have Adam's butt dance, how can you beat that?? You think, Oh I'll just be smart...No have you seen your cousin Anna she was born a genus. We can already throw out the evil genius, we have way too many of those... Sad I know, but really...don't worry I have a plan for you.
None of these kids speak Spanish...and the fastest way to Aby's heart is through Spanish, I mean look at Uncle Tim, how else do you think he got to marry Aunt Jamie?????
So I will get you a tutor and we will work on our Spanish. In the mean time, keep cookin' and work on those looks that I told you about, you know the ones that will get your daddy to forget the trouble you caused!
LOVE YOU,
Your crazy mama!

The RING

No I am not talking about the one dealing with Hobbits...I am talking about the one that I gave to my husband Aug 5, 2006 (okay so he got it a couple days earlier, I am a sucker)

Anyway,
ON CHRISTMAS this year, Brenton was being so kind as to scrape the 4 inches of snow off the car before we left to drive (in a HORRIBLE snow storm) home.

It was about hour and a half into the drive that Brenton looks down and Ahhh...his ring is gone!!

His poor cold finger shrank so that his ring just fell right off without him feeling it!

Well me being a very awesome wife, calls the jeweler that we bought it from originally and orders the SAME EXACT RING....

The jeweler is in CA, and we are going to be out there over Valentine's Day weekend and so I had a plan to give it to him on Valentines Day (it was going to be a surprise however I am a sucker and he asked if I ordered it...I told him no...and then 20 seconds later told him I did! What was I supposed to do, he asked me at CHURCH? I can't lie at church!!)

So we have the ring all ready for him next week, and he gets a phone call from his dad....why you ask??? Because his dad just so happened to stumble across my hubby's ring today!!!

I'll tell you what, my Brenton was so happy, it made his day, his week almost! And so he and his ring will be reunited once again on Sat! And I called the jeweler and YES they did allow me to return the ring... so I don't have to pay for a new ring (which costs more the second time you buy it, we are in a recession!) THANK YOU LINCOLN JEWELERS for being so great and letting me return it!!!

The Basics

So everyone says "Just stick to the basics" when it comes to buying things for our precious bundle of baby...and so Brenton and I have purchased a few diaper packages, a few onesie sets....and are still debating on what is the perfect pacifier....

We know there are more things that we will have to start purchasing, but what are the basics? I mean, are a bunch of hair bows and headbands with flowers the size of her head...is that basic? (because I am already wanting to get those!) Are shoes part of the basics, when will I need those?

Is a Bobby a basic or extravagant? Can I get a baby swing and one of those small chairs that have music and vibrate too??? Or am I just being greedy??

The big baby store over here gave me a checklist for the "New Mom" and about 200 products later they said I'll be ready....HA, I say..HA!

Are we there yet?

Well today The little lady, Brenton and I have survived 20 weeks with each other...everyone should get a gold sticker!

We have survived sickness, cravings, potty emergencies, hot flashes, stretching bodies, crying Jazmine, moody Jazmine, and needing to buy bigger clothes....

Brenton hands down gets an A++. There should be a boyscout badge for husbands when they go through a pregnancy.

Now that we are growing more, I am starting to be really amazed as to how our bodies handle this...and yet I wonder...our hips move so that the baby can get out...so why can't our bladder move so the baby isn't sitting on it??? I mean really, when I have to
really go potty, and then nothing comes out because I am pretty sure she is pinching a tube...I am not a fan!

What a Day!!!

So our Big Dr. appointment was today. I wore a blue shirt to support the boys team and pink eye shadow for the girls team....(no it did not match but that wasn't the point today!)

I have created a little video for you to watch..yes it's 3 min, but at the end you get the answer to your question!

This video is just bits and pieces of the long video the Dr gave us. Sorry if you are bored, but I am pretty dang proud of the little creature I have been growing for the last 19 weeks and 4 days. Most of the body parts shown the technician points out and labels, I think the only one that isn't is the heart, but you get the idea once you see it....I mean it's beating and all!

The film is rated PG due to the shaking of a certain baby near the end of the video...
someone not moving their legs=technician shaking my stomach (and full bladder!!) to get you to move! TWICE!!!

Why Brain Cells are important

I would just like to express my appreciation for brain cells. Apparently, I did something wrong to them, and so I think they went on strike or something.

I have notice that without brain cells I cannot think and speak correctly at the same time. I find that I say things like, "I like your salad" instead of "I like your sweater" (true story I did that to my brother...or it was sandwich, see if I had brain cells I could remember that!)

I can't type a correct sentence the first time round...no no I have to read and reread and reread to make sure that I don't sound like an idiot. I mean really, I am typing what I am thinking..that's easy enough. But when I go reread it, it says something completely different from what I remembered typing. (Just to prove, I will not edit this post, so you can see what I am talking about)

I miss being able to recall things past 7 hrs after it happened.

I miss having a the brain cells filter what I say from the "what I wish I could say, but it's too mean so I am just going to think it" and then I really say it...sorry Brenton for taking that Brunt! You are a trooper!

Brain Cells...WHAT DID I DO WRONG?? Please come back, I miss you so. I fear that I will do sometihng horrible if you don't start working again!

Poor Chloe

Sorry Chloe!!!!! I don't like putting this collar on you, but if we don't get the barking under control then they are going to ask us to get rid of you!!

Hopefully we have made some changes so you aren't barking when we leave (new chew toy, blocking your view out of the window, longer walks...)

One day we will have a house with a big yard where you can run and play and bark all you want and there won't be any LAME neighbors that feel they need to complain!

So please forgive us!!

oH and to the neighbor that complained...

Congratulations on LYING to the office about how bad Chloe is
1) We are home by 7pm on most nights, and we do not allow her to bark late at night like you say
2) I am home until 8:15, and again there is no barking, and the quiet ordinance ends at 6am (or maybe 7) so WHATEVER to your barks early in the morning!!

Jazmine Vs. Her Fellow Students

Well I must start off with sharing that I have failed...I have failed at being the most obnoxious person in my World Religions class...oh no I don't even come in 3rd place....let me introduce you to our top winners!

#3. Girl in the yellow who doesn't know how to whisper, and decided to talk to the guy next to her over and over throughout the lecture...

#2. Scrubs boy..he liked to hear himself talk and so he'd not really answer a question but tangent off ...AWESOME! In case you were interested, he can read Russian...

#1..The winner and I will have a good name for him soon, but for now it's 49er puffy jacket guy...he used my idea of answering all the questions before anyone else has a chance.....Oh and if the teacher would answer it before he was called upon, he would raise his hand to say, "That is what I was going to say"

**Sad thing is this is the 2nd class that The Brenton and I have had with him, I remembered because the first class I saw him at, I thought to myself, "wow a 49er puffy jacket..."

I do have an award for the best dumbest question ever asked tonight in class. This goes to the guy sitting right next to me, who felt he was the first person to figure out that you can text on your phone as long as you just hold it under the table!! GENIUS

Okay so the question:
"Umm..the syllabus says that there are 7 take home essays...what exactly does that mean??

I don't know, now I am not all brainy and all..but I figured that meant that there are going to be take home essays...and we'll have to do I don't know....7 of them!

Okay so taking night classes while hormonal isn't such a good idea, but The Brenton said that it is great entertainment for him...to watch me silently explode at people!

18 Weeks

Tomorrow is the beginning of Spring Term. Which means....18 weeks of FUN!

I think this term, my goal is to be the most annoying person in class.

I have to deal with the big mouths in class every term
Examples:
  • Michael from stats class who was the smart kid who didn't know how to be funny but TRIED anyway!!!
  • Rusty from Accounting, (and Econ) who had to show up 20 min late to every Accounting class and the teacher would restart to catch him up!!!
  • The guy in History class that shared his angry feelings that they don't allow concealed weapons on campus
and last but not least..
  • the girls in my Advertising class that don't freaking know how to turn off their phones..one had her text message sound be the Tinkerbell chime, and was text messaging about 2 dozen times during a test...and the other girl with the phone ring of a horse neighing

Yes I am tired of having to deal with these people, and so
I think I will be the one annoying them.
My annoying checklist:
  1. Be OVERLY peppy the first day of class when we have to introduce ourselves. Maybe tell a joke that no one will understand
  2. Use my loud laugh
  3. Try in anyway to have something in common with my teacher and then bring it up EVERY class
  4. Have a really awesome phone ring of a song that gets stuck in your head easily and have it go off during class, but take about 20 seconds before I turn it off
  5. Answer all questions FIRST without giving anyone the time to think about the answer
By the end of the term, my goal is to have everyone have to look down every time I talk, because they are so annoyed (you know like the awkward testimony meetings)

I am still working on the list, it will grow and grow as I get inspired by my fellow students!
Wish me luck!
